• Preparation

Before trimming the enamel, you and your dentist will decide the need for a local anesthesia. Your dentist will take an impression of your tooth and make a model. This model will be sent to a dental laboratory to construct your veneer, which usually takes 2-4 weeks. Temporary veneers can be used for unsightly teeth.
• Bonding 
  Before permanently cementing the veneer, your dentist will trim the veneer as required. Next, your dentist will clean, polish, and etch the tooth to allow for a strong bonding process. A special type of cement is applied to the veneer before placing it on the tooth. Once it is properly positioned, your dentist will apply a special light beam to the dental veneer. This light beam activates the chemicals in the cement and helps it harden or cure quickly. The final steps include removing excess cement, examining your bite, and making final adjustments. Your dentist may suggest a follow-up visit in a couple of weeks to check how your gums are responding to the veneer and to once again examine the placement of the veneer.
